Don't Let Up- Tell Congress to Stop Foreign Control of U.S. Airlines

Congress has a chance to stop the U.S. airline industry from becoming the latest victim of foreign control and takeover.  The loud protest regarding Dubai's attempt to take over east coast ports should be heard again.  Foreign control of airlines would threaten both American jobs and National security.

The foreign control of airlines would be catastrophic for workers who have already had to deal with bankruptcies and lost jobs and pensions. With airlines still suffering from the impact of 9/11, it seems as if our government's only solution to fixing the airline crisis is to let foreign companies start taking them over and control decisions about sending our jobs overseas.

It's important to keep the pressure on Congress to stop the administration from sending U.S. airlines jobs abroad.  Congress will vote this week on an amendment that will do just that.  Tell your Representative to vote YES on the amendment offered by Congressmen James Oberstar (D-MN) and Frank LoBiondo (R-NJ). Don't let up - tell them to stop the Administration from selling our airlines to foreign interests and protect our jobs and safety.

Support Fairness and Safety for FAA Employees

Tell Congress today to ensure that bargaining rights of air traffic controllers and other FAA employees are protected in line with other federal workers.  It is time to demand fairness for FAA workers.

The FAA has never engaged in real contract talks with the air traffic controllers union, NACTA.  Instead of negotiations, the FAA has twisted the law to impose its will on air traffic controllers.  Unless Congress acts the week of June 5th, the FAA will be able to get away with ignoring its bargaining obligations and forcing a contract on its workers

Your voice is needed to tell Congress that sensible legislation that simply forces the parties to resolve their differences at the bargaining table and sends the unsolved issues to binding arbitration is the right answer to this situation.

Please take action today.   All transportation workers nationwide must stand together to ensure fairness is restored to contractual disputes.   It is time for Congress to stop the FAA from forcing a contract on its workers.

Fight for Fairness for FAA Workers

Tell Congress today to stop the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) from trampling on its workers' bargaining rights.

Earlier this month the FAA broke off contract talks with the air traffic controllers union – NATCA.  Instead of good faith bargaining, the FAA has chosen to pursue a twisted interpretation of the law to unilaterally impose contract terms on its workers.  Forcing contracts on your workers isn't true bargaining.  And if the FAA gets away with it, members of the two other AFL-CIO unions at the FAA, PASS and AFSCME, will face the same fate.

Members of Congress can do something about it but they must hear from transportation workers nationwide.  It is time for Congress to step in and demand fairness for FAA workers.  Please take action today and urge Congress to pass sensible legislation that simply forces the parties to resolve their differences at the bargaining table and sends the unresolved issues to binding arbitration.  That approach ensures fairness and balance.

Unless Congress acts in the next few weeks, the FAA will be able to get away with ignoring its bargaining obligations and forcing a contract on its workers.

Tell Congress today that it's time for our elected officials to stand up for fairness and the bargaining rights of FAA workers.
